Flying – Plan to arrive at Albuquerque Airport (ABQ) before 4 pm, Tuesday, August 4, and depart from ABQ after 12 pm, Tuesday, August 11 in order to join the airport shuttles to and from the venue. You may need to rent a car from the airport should you arrive later or depart earlier. Dār al-Islām is two hours from Albuquerque Airport.
Alternatively, you may consider arriving Monday evening, August 3, and staying at a nearby hotel in order to join the airport shuttle on Tuesday, August 4. The gate at Dār al-Islām closes between 10:30 pm and 8 am (if you arrive late, stay at a hotel and arrive at the venue after 8 am).
Driving – Be sure not to disconnect your GPS application throughout the last 30 minutes of your commute since you may likely lose service.
PREPARATIONS
LODGING AND MEALS
There are two separate dorm halls, one for men and one for women, with bunk beds and shared bathrooms.
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be provided throughout the program on-site.
DEPARTURE
Shuttle will depart Dār al-Islām the morning of August 11. The bus is tentatively scheduled to depart shortly after 8 am. More details shall be forthcoming.

DESCRIPTION
“Whoever worshipped Muhammad: Muhammad has passed. And whoever worships Allah: Allah ever lives and never unto death!” With this utterance, Abū Bakr رضي الله عنه brought a people who had fallen to their knees at the news of his passing ﷺ to stand tall and forge ahead as one ummah. ʿUmar رضي الله عنه would soon bring Persia, Byzantium, and the Yemen to Allah and His Messenger ﷺ, while spending many a disquieted eve tormented at the thought of being questioned about a single sheep that could potentially stumble in Iraq if he failed to sufficiently pave its roads. Then consider how the light of the Qur’an illumes every crevice of darkness the world over as the abiding deed of the one possessed of two lights, ʿUthmān رضي الله عنه , who commissioned its preservation as scripture along with its variant recitations in the seven provinces. And with his two-tipped sword of knowledge and ethics, ʿAlī عليه السلام kept the ranks of Muslims together in times of upheaval and turmoil. Immediately upon the passing of the Prophet ﷺ, the terrific concern of those entrusted with authority over the faithful was to faithfully preserve his legacy and to live out their lives according to what he brought and bequeathed. They were tenacious, principled, courageous, and dignified, they commanded as he commanded and forbade as he forbade, while bearing the standard that he embodied and shadowing the light that he traced upon their paths. Even mountains would tremble under their footsteps, as the Prophet ﷺ himself, once calmed Uḥud with his staff: “Be still, for upon you tread a Prophet, a witness, and martyrs.”

At the dawn of revelation, the Prophet ﷺ was commanded وَأَمَّا بِنِعْمَةِ رَبِّكَ فَحَدِّثْ “And as for the blessing of thy Lord, proclaim it!” (al-Ḍuḥā 93:11). And toward the eve of his passing, he instructed those present to inform those absent. If you have found any benefit in our work, then know that it came solely from Allah and His Messenger ﷺ, and with the intention of proclaiming His bounty, feel free to share it with others.
